Jun. 27, 2008 - THE SCRIBE PLAYWRIGHTING COMPETITION

Well, fellow writers, there is only one week of submission time left in Croyle Entertainment's first annual SCRIBE PLAYWRIGHTING COMPETITION! If you haven't submitted your play yet, now is the time to do it. Deadline is July 4, 2008. And, while we eagerly await to read your pieces, I must say to those who have submitted thus far, that we're enjoying reading your submissions very much! Some amazing quality of writing going on. And that's what we like! I'm truly impressed with what has been showing up in our mailbox. Determining a winner for each category will be a daunting task, but that's what you all are supposed to do for us — make it difficult. If it was easy, everyone would be a writer. So, with those thoughts in mind, keep up the great work — and those who haven't submitted yet, we can't wait to see what you add to the fire. This competition is taking off better than we anticipated, as we're receiving plays from all over the globe. We've already begun planning for next year!

Jan. 3, 2008 - CROYLE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES UPCOMING PROJECTS

(OIL CITY, PA) Matt Croyle has announced a couple of upcoming projects slated for development by Oil City's newest production company, Croyle Entertainment. The company's follow-up to last October's finely reviewed 'Wine, Cheese, & Poe' will be the production of two one-act plays. These evenings of theater will cohesively tie two seperate pieces together into an evening of live theater that is rarely seen in the Venango County area.

"I know those who came out and saw our last production were very welcoming to seeing something different than what they are used to," says Croyle. "It's refreshing not only for me to be able to try and bring these types of productions to Venango County, but for the theater-going public as well."

Also, Croyle Entertainment is developing a playwrighting competition. This competition will be open to writers world-wide.

Croyle states, " The competition is being designed with two goals in mind. The first is being able to give local writers an opportunity to hear their work read. The second is being able to give those people of our area a chance to hear what writers from around the world have to say in their writing -- what issues they focus on, thematics, and so forth. Sometimes the dynamics of international boundaries can be eye-opening. I'm looking forward to developing this project more."

Look forward to more from Croyle Entertainment in the upcoming months.
